GP&J Baker and family
Founded in 1884 by brothers George Percival and James Baker, GP&J Baker has been producing beautiful prints and weaves for over 100 years.
More than a century of discerning collecting has produced one of the most exciting and largest privately owned textile archive in the world. Designs from this rich resource are skilfully adapted to meet with today’s transitional tastes and colour palettes and are complemented by luxurious and eclectic weaves.
Today, in addition to developing its own traditional style and unique “handwriting” G P & J Baker continues to grow its reputation as one of the world’s innovators of fabric design and colour. As a holder of the Royal Warrant, G P & J Baker fabrics are used in Royal residences throughout the United Kingdom. The GP&J Baker family also includes Parkertex, Mulberry Home and Lee Jofa.
Baker Lifestyle is part of the GP and J Baker group and offers an exciting range of modern and contemporary designs at affordable price points. In 2010 Baker Lifestyle teamed up with Homes and Gardens magazine to create a unique collaborative collection of fabrics and wallpapers.
Mulberry is a British luxury lifestyle brand renowned worldwide for its craftsmanship and quality. Mulberry was established in rural Somerset in the 1970’s and today takes its inspiration from its heritage and craftsmanship, introducing new ideas and interpreting them with modern relevance. In 1991 Mulberry Home was created as a result of customers demand for more of the Mulberry style. Mulberry offers sensual products which merge function and fashion that look and feel superb and materials that are beautiful and friendly to the touch.
Parkertex collections offer a huge variety of eclectic and versatile fabrics with a fantastic range of texture and scale. Cleverly coordinated fusions of both modern and classic weaves are balanced by strikingly vibrant or elegantly muted prints. All Parkertex fabrics are designed to work in perfect harmony with each other and look stylish in any interior environment, traditional or contemporary. Parkertex is the younger brand of the G P &J Baker group focusing on reasonably priced high specification fabrics in a fresher pallette.
Lee Jofa can trace its roots back to 1823 but took its current form in 1965 with the combination of Lee & Jofa. The fabrics were then and still are considered to be amongst the most luxurious in the world.
