Please note that to avoid any ambiguity our full printed Terms and Conditions, available on request, take precedence over anything on this website and can only be varied by written agreement between you and us.
Terms and Conditions of business of Art from the Start Limited trading as Fabric Gallery and Interiors.
Buying from Us
Although Fabric Gallery and Interiors may be a new name to you, you can buy from us with complete confidence because we are owned and operated by Art from the Start, an established and reputable York-based interior design company founded in 2007.
We are Art from the Start Ltd. Registered address: Landsvale, High Catton, York YO41 1EH UK. Company Registration #5576714; VAT Registration GB 870 6881 90. We are an established “bricks & mortar” business and not an anonymous or fly-by-night on-line outlet.
We offer a range of services including full interior design services, advice and consultation and also a no-frills supply-only service.
Terms & Conditions
All our business is subject our Standard Terms and Conditions. Copies are freely available on request and can be found online. We advise you to read this because this underpins your contract with us.
For our no-frills supply-only service we have an additional set of specific terms and conditions.
Fabric Gallery and Interiors provides special offers solely at its discretion and may start or withdraw offers at any time without notice.
When we offer price discounts these refer to published or typical retail prices normally prevailing for the goods in question.
When we offer free fitting or measuring services these are conditional on the purchase of fabric, blinds or curtains from us and will be applied as a rebate on the final invoice.
Please be aware that expired special offers may still be visible on the internet particularly in results returned by search engines – we have no control over third parties who may index or cache information from our website.
Quotes provided may have expiry dates that can be considerably shorter than the regular 30 days (for example at the end of a sale).
We use our best endeavours to supply our products or services to your requested dates, but we cannot guarantee specific dates due to many factors outside our control such as unavailability of materials or sub-contractors.
We will happily obtain samples of fabrics for you from our suppliers but nowadays several major brands prefer to to send out samples directly to you (you can select/order samples via the brand’s own websites) . However for larger returnable samples we will request a deposit. Please note that slight shade variations may occur between samples, display books and ordered material. Where an exact colour match is needed please ask for a cutting from stock before ordering your fabric. Please also note that samples may not show the whole design or pattern repeat.
Please do not rely on web or printed images of a fabric as photos cannot always represent colour or sheen accurately and certainly cannot reveal texture or the three dimensional nature of a fabric.
We serve customers from York and from across Yorkshire who travel to our showroom, but if you cannot travel to us for any reason we can deliver or arrange carriage by courier to your home or office. There may be size limits but usually rolls of fabric, curtains, poles, tins of paint etc are straightforward to deliver. You are responsible for ensuring that someone can sign for packages when they are delivered; if you have specific delivery arrangements you should advise us when ordering.
We accept most major credit cards, cheques, internet payments, BACS transfers and, of course, cash. We prefer debit cards to credit cards because of the charges levied by the credit card processing companies.
However we do not impose a credit card surcharge as some shops do.
