Everything you need to know about John Derian
John Derian is a legendary decoupage artist who transforms printed images from the past into handmade plates, platters, trays, paperweights & coasters and bowls – functional home goods as much as sought – after art objects. Based in New York, he started his eponymous company in 1989 and employs a small staff of artisans to assist with the hand-made production. The video below gives an insight into his artistic thinking.
In spring 2018 John Derian teamed up with Designers Guild to bring his first collection of fabric, wallpapers and accessories to us here in the UK.
